On Thanksgiving, families gather to reminisce, while thanking the Almighty God for a year of monumental blessings. While dynamics in life bring about challenges, tragedies, and uncontrollable loss, we embrace struggles with an attitude that will shift the negative into positive. Our fond memories lift our spirits and motivate our wills to keep moving onward and upward.
FACT: Gratefulness is an energy boost! It makes you smile when you should be crying. It makes you declare the great, even when life looks like the Thanksgiving pound cake that didn’t quite rise. (Insert laughter). Life could be as burnt as an overcooked piece of bacon, but gratefulness finds a song of faith – and sings it! Sure. Things may not all be well, but we can all agree that being alive overshadows our greatest adversities. Today, we pause to honor our families, friends and those whom God has placed in our lives. We are thankful for our places of employment and for the many avenues that have been created to produce multiple streams of income that will allow us to effectively “work the dash”.
I am especially thankful for the Working the Dash Community! Your involvement in each post, your critiques and critical aspects, your efforts in bringing light to this blog platform and your connection as an ambassador to uplifting vision has been nothing short of remarkable. For this, I AM TRULY GRATEFUL!
Take a moment to reflect on the GOOD! After the turkey has been carved and after holiday conversations have been exchanged, thanksgiving MUST become a lifestyle. There is a magic in traditions and a magic in the love we share with each other!
So, in between naps and the next slice of sweet potato pie, remember to give thanks. I encourage each of you to take the opportunity to reach out to a family member and break barriers that have held you captive to negativity. This holiday, give yourself the gift of freedom and gift your loved ones release! Everyone needs love and companionship – not just today, but every day of the year.
Have a blessed holiday weekend and wake up knowing that the life you are experiencing is the result of a GRATEFUL heart and a BLESSED walk with God!
